End-Vent Slider Windows

Angled exterior view of a black endvent slider window, rendered from the Panes 3D configurator

Keep a broad central view and bring fresh air in from either side. Panes end-vent slider windows combine a fixed center with two horizontally sliding end sashes in one frame. Choose custom dimensions and the lift-out or tilt model for your replacement or new-construction project.

Where end-vent windows fit

A clear view through the center

The fixed center stays closed while the end sashes move. Compare this three-panel layout with a single or double slider when planning the proportions of a wider opening.

Fresh air from the sides

Both end sashes slide horizontally within the frame. They do not swing into a walkway or patio, and opening them does not create a full-width clear opening.

Choose how the end sashes clean

The standard model uses lift-out end sashes. The separate tilt model adds inward tilt access to the end sashes. With either model, the center glass remains fixed and needs separate cleaning access.

End-vent window questions

What is an end-vent slider window?

An end-vent slider is a three-panel window with a fixed center and an operating sash at each end. The end sashes slide toward the center for ventilation. You may also see this layout described as a three-lite slider or an XOX window.

How does an end-vent slider differ from a double slider?

A double slider has two moving sashes. An end-vent slider has three sections: two moving end sashes and a fixed center. Compare the layout, frame dimensions and usable opening for your room; the overall frame width is not the clear opening.

Do all end-vent windows tilt inward?

No. Panes offers a standard lift-out model and a separate tilt model. The tilt feature applies to the end sashes. The center stays fixed in both models, so it needs separate cleaning access.

Can I order custom sizes for replacement or new construction?

Yes. The listed sizes are editable starting configurations for made-to-order windows. Choose supported frame dimensions and the appropriate flange, glass and finish. Have your installer confirm the final frame size and installation details before ordering.

What is included in the displayed price?

Each size example prices one complete window with the selected model, dimensions, finish, glass and flange, plus a regular screen and no grilles. Tax, freight and installation are separate. Open the example in the designer to review or change its options.

Plan the center view and the end openings

The center stays fixed while the two end sashes slide horizontally. Choose lift-out or tilt cleaning access for the end sashes, and plan separate access to the center glass. Have your installer confirm the complete frame dimensions, opening requirements and flange choice for your project.

Compare glass for your climate

For Midwest and Northeast projects, compare double-pane and triple-pane packages using the whole-window U-factor and SHGC for the selected configuration. Lower U-factor means less heat transfer; SHGC describes solar heat gain. Sun exposure, shading and local requirements matter too. Confirm the applicable ratings and any certification for your final size and glass package.

Review the complete order

Your configured price depends on the size, glass, finish and selected options. Review quantity, taxes, freight and any order-level charges separately, and confirm final dimensions before purchasing. Panes supplies custom windows across the continental US; arrange installation with your contractor. Confirm freight access and delivery timing before scheduling the work.

Compare lift-out and tilt end-vent windows

These matching 72 × 40 inch frames have a fixed center and two sliding end sashes. The standard model has lift-out end sashes; the separate tilt model adds inward tilt access for cleaning. The center remains fixed with either model.

Match the layout to a wider opening

An end-vent window has three sections in one frame. Compare the central view and the two end openings with a two-sash double slider. Check the actual clear opening and the reach to both handles for the room.

Plan access to the fixed center

Lift-out or tilt describes the cleaning model of the end sashes. Neither choice makes the fixed center tilt or slide. Allow access to that glass and follow the selected model’s cleaning instructions.

Included in these examples: Each example has white exterior and interior, a regular screen, no grilles and no nailing flange. Brickmould and interior jamb extensions are excluded. Prices are for one complete configured window; tax, delivery and installation are separate.

White/white and black exterior/white interior are available for these styles. Open a configuration to choose a finish or the version with a nailing flange. Confirm the installation method before choosing the flange; custom dimensions and options change the price.

Estimated production is 15–20 business days, followed by freight transit. For US projects, arrange measurement and installation with your contractor. Confirm freight charges, unloading access and delivery timing for your address.
