Sliding windows. More room for your view.
Panes · Premium windows · Made to order
A sliding window opens sideways without a sash swinging into the space outside. Choose one moving sash in a single slider or two moving sashes in a double slider. Panes manufactures both to your dimensions for replacement and new-construction projects, with standard and tilt models available.

Make the right choices for your opening
Single slider: one moving sash
One sash glides beside a fixed section. Choose the operating direction for your room and confirm it as viewed from outside. This can suit wide openings beside a patio, walkway or other space where an outward-opening sash would get in the way.
Explore single slider windowsDouble slider: two moving sashes
Both sashes can move horizontally, giving you a choice of which side to open. The panels overlap within the frame, so two moving sashes do not create a full-width passage. Double slider describes operation, not the number of panes in the glass.
Explore double slider windowsChoose standard or tilt cleaning access
Tilt is a separate model choice. A single-slider tilt model adds inward cleaning access to its moving sash; the fixed section still needs separate access. A double-slider tilt model allows inward sash access on both sides. Confirm the model and allow room to support the sashes.

A frame’s width and height do not describe the clear opening. Have the installer check the selected size and operating arrangement against your room’s ventilation and any emergency-escape requirements. For a fixed view without ventilation, compare a picture window.

Window ordering questions
What is the difference between a sliding window and a slider window?
Both terms describe a window whose sash moves horizontally. Panes offers single-slider and double-slider layouts, with standard and tilt models. Choose the actual operating and cleaning features in your configuration.
Are sliding windows available for replacement and new construction?
Yes. Choose the supported custom dimensions and the frame, flange and trim details appropriate to the installation. The matched-price examples here have no nailing flange; flange versions are available in the configuration catalog.
Can I order black sliding windows?
The configuration catalog includes white exterior/white interior and black exterior/white interior sliding windows. Compare those finishes on the product page. Black interior is not offered for these slider configurations.
