Coordinate the rough opening and frame

The rough opening is the space prepared by the builder; the frame is the manufactured window. Confirm the installation allowance, wall assembly, sill support and flashing plan together. A nailing flange provides an attachment and integration detail; it does not replace a complete weather-management plan.

Custom dimensions or the builder-size program?

The full custom catalog lets you design within each window’s supported manufacturing limits. The separate New Construction Premium program uses selected builder sizes and options with a nailing fin included. Its even-inch rough openings and specified frame deduction apply to that program, not every custom order.

Plan the whole elevation

Use a numbered schedule to coordinate operating and fixed windows, matching sightlines, exterior finishes and glass choices. Twin and triple combinations need their own overall frame dimensions and joining details. Send the drawings for review before ordering a multi-opening package.

Plan production, delivery and installation

Custom window production is estimated at 15–20 business days; freight transit comes afterward. Panes supplies windows across the continental US. Arrange measurement and installation with your contractor; confirm the freight price and receiving requirements for your address. The separate New Construction Premium program has its own published specifications and production schedule.

Can new construction windows be made to custom dimensions?

Yes. The full Panes custom window catalog supports made-to-order dimensions within the selected product’s limits. The separate New Construction Premium program offers a defined set of builder sizes and options. Choose the ordering path that fits your schedule.

Is a nailing flange included in these examples?

Yes. The configurations shown on this page include a nailing flange. Confirm flange, jamb and trim requirements with your builder; not every project uses the same installation detail.

Can I use a new construction window during a renovation?

A renovation with an exposed opening may use a flange-equipped window if it suits the installation and exterior finish plan. Ask your installer to assess the opening and weather-management details. The project name alone does not determine the correct frame or flange.
