The rough opening is the space prepared by the builder; the frame is the manufactured window. Confirm the installation allowance, wall assembly, sill support and flashing plan together. A nailing flange provides an attachment and integration detail; it does not replace a complete weather-management plan.

Can new construction windows be made to custom dimensions?
Yes. Use Simplified or Pro to design made-to-order windows within the selected product’s manufacturing limits. Confirm the manufactured dimensions and nailing flange requirements with your builder before ordering.
Is a nailing flange included in these examples?
The starting configurations on this page include a nailing flange. You can change that selection in the project estimator or designer. Confirm flange, jamb and trim requirements with your builder; not every project uses the same installation detail.
Can I order new-construction windows in bulk?
Yes. Choose one window type, frame size, colour and set of options, including the nailing flange. Save 5% on 20–49 identical windows, 7% on 50–99, and 10% on 100 or more, based on regular online product prices. Download the bulk pricing and continue to the designer. Freight and tax are extra; installation is arranged by you.
Can I use a new construction window during a renovation?
A renovation with an exposed opening may use a flange-equipped window if it suits the installation and exterior finish plan. Ask your installer to assess the opening and weather-management details. The project name alone does not determine the correct frame or flange.
